Just don't get me confused with the Duck Lady! [-X

https://laurakayprophet.wordpress.com/

I have met her. She is eccentric but very nice and very kind. We use the same avian vet. I have not watched this particular video but if she mentions the duck 'cries' and that other ducks don't, it is true. My vet has confirmed it is not 'normal' and she does not know of other ducks that do this.

ps - the duck seemed to remember me when we met a second time. She kept quacking and wagging her tail and got really excited even though she had been perfectly calm. The first time we met was last August. It was quite hot out, and while I waiting to see the vet, I was watering the garden - the sign of a client that spends far too much time at the clinic. Anyway, the Duck Lady and Duck were leaving the clinic and she asked if I would spray the duck so that it remained cool. Of course I said I would. While doing so, the Duck Lady told me the whole story etc. :? :D

Please! My birds will be holding the edges of my shirt sleeve in their little feet so that they are able to fly me down the street.

Oooh, GORGEOUS!!

I had a scarlet once, but he was a stress monger. He'd been tamed and then neglected in his prior home and it caused him tremendous stress. So he did what all hookbills do when severely stressed - he plucked out all his feathers repeatedly to the point where he damaged all the follicles.

So he never had more than a few sparse feathers here and there, mostly on his head. But his personality more than made up for his scruffy looks!

Scarlets have the best personalities and they're so spunky. I'd love to get another (feathered) one someday.

vienneparis - I guess I better stay away from potato chips. My husband & sons told me I have enough birds. I really enjoy what I have but sometimes think about adding one or two more.
