Bourke Genetics

Post by paul-inAZ » Sun May 10, 2015 2:08 pm

Looking to add a lutino Bourke and am confused by the published genetic profiles of various crosses. Depending on sex of the lutino I get, what would the results be of:
A) my Normal/rosy cock x lutino hen
B) Lutino cock x my Rosy hen

Throwing Rubino -should I find one- into the mix instead of lutino gets even more confusing.

TIA

Well I have a male Rosey/Ino and a female Rubino. From my limited understanding I can only get Rosey and Rubino chicks from them and the Roseys will be split to Ino.

Su Yin who owns Happy Bird Place has a lot of the Bourke mutations and might be able to explain it well...I believe she even has a genetics portion on her page...

You can also email her and she is very helpful. cindy here on the forum is another good bet for explaining genetics.
