Sherry:
The corn is raw, cut off in segments 2 inches or a bit less in length so an ear can last quite a while stored in the frig. I give it to them 2 or maybe 3x a week and leave the corn in for 2 or 3 days.
They initially nibble on it, then eat it, then kind of play with it after it gets really dry.
Mine could be atypical but they are not specially fond of the younger tender corn that we prefer. They're happiest with tougher, over-ripe corn.

Paul-inAZ Thanks I will try the corn. I fed them this morning and watched the male holding a piece of dry fruit in his claw which surprised me. My Bourkes don't do that.

Is that something yours do eating and holding their food in their claw like a parrot?

Took me by surprise.... :-O

I've never noticed that.
They do pick at greens without grasping them and roll the corn cobs around on the floor as they eat it.
When they get tired of greens they dump them into their water dish if they can pick the pieces up. I'm guessing that they use their beaks for this.
