So just within the last few days Corky has been stepping up onto my hand FROM INSIDE HIS CAGE. This is quite a milestone! I have not had any problems getting him to step up if he is on the floor, so each time he would step up I would tell him "step". So when I want him to step up from in his cage I say step and he now climbs on.
He does however still bite me if I am close enough and he perceives some sort of danger, real or imagined. He does it out of instinct, then will fly off. I just try not to react to it. He doesn't draw blood.
Baby steps.

This is such a cool story. It would make a good book. I am so happy for both of you.
