Thank You , she's a sweetheart , yes, the beak looks scary but she is actually very gentle when playing with fingers .

Rio is gorgeous. It's awesome she is gentle with fingers. I was bit my cockatiel and hit hurt like crazy. I can only imagine the damage Rio would do, lol.

Macaws are different , very intelligent . One has to respect the bird , learn its language, they can be moody ( like people) Each has his, hers own personality. They love to play but they need time out also. Bird also needs training. One can not force the bird to do anything it does not want to do .
It's a learning process for both of us .

She has toys in her cage and love to destroy them so one has to be creative to keep macaw happy and healthy . I purposely keep her toys in a left corner of the cage so she has plenty of room to move around and
she knows where her play ground is. She is also free to go out of the cage to her play stand but only when under my supervision. She's not clipped and her cage is out just next to the pool, so safety first.
