It sure has been a while since I have been on this forum.
I had decided to take a break from birds for a couple of years. I ended up rehoming all of my birds (some from this forum) and focus on my family.
....well I couldnt seem to live very long without a bird lol.
Maybe this was fate...
We just rescued a little budgie yesturday.
Someone had actually found this poor budgie in their backyard, caught him and took him inside. He tried to find the owners but to no avail. No one has come forward for the bird.
This person had no bird experience, but did the best they could with what they had, which was putting him in a fish tank. They fed him carrots and water with a bit of bread. No idea how long they have had this bird for.
So after hearing this story from him, I felt strongly that I needed to bring him into our home.
Right now he is being quarantined in a little cage. My goodness was he ever hungry! When we brought him home he went straight to the food and ate and ate through out the day and night.
He is a bit thin, but seems healthy. His tail is missing, but probably came off when they tried to catch him outside.
Just this morning he is starting to sing

This is one lucky bird.
Any longer outside Im sure he would have died as winter will soon be setting in.
