By 8 or 9 months a male should have a blue bar across his forehead.
Looks like two ladies unless they are still in juvie colors.

paul-inAZ. Thank you for replay. I have them 4 months now.. I think they are over 8 months.. no blue on forehead. Reason why I asked cuz I'll rent her out to my friend who has lone male..

To me it looks like hens also. If your friend is planning to breed, the hens should mature more, breeding is done around age 12 months to 14 months, some wait until 18 months.

Malti. Bird 1 had Very little blue on forehead when I got them 4 months ago. But it's completely gone. No blue by naked eyes. Someone told me that flat head is male, round head is female.. but for Turquoisine some other breeder told me opposite way to sex....

Using the shape of the head as a criterion you are sure to be correct 50% of the time.

Malti, I would do DNA for my main birds.. It's $20. But these are free birds which breeder gave to me...

the normals should be easy to sex visually once old enough.... rosey, rubino and lutino are best sexed by either DNA or behavior as they mature.

Free or not, if i'm curious enough / need to sex them i'd do the dna just the same if its not that clear - after all I think we all treat our birds the same, from the cheapest one to the most expensive one.

But I also get that budget might be tight esp atm ($20 is equivalent to 2/3 of the seeds I use monthly) so i'd wait for them to mature :)

Malti .Those are not a part of my breeding plans. That's why I won't to do DNA. I was not thinking to get any normals but breeder gave it to me....
