Scarlet Chested Parakeet Boys

Hatched 9/23 and 8/4, all appear to be boys as red is on all their chests. Scruffy as they are molting yet.

They look good!! Keep an eye on them especially if you have one that is more dominant, he will (may) target and harass a more submissive male. If this happens remove the dominant male they can injure or worse a more passive male.

After our house sells and I finish my aviary I would seriously like to talk about a pair of the Scarlet cresteds. PM what that would cost so I can start saving up & where you are in FL. Are there any Bird shows in your area? I read up on these today and their personalities and songs are ideal.

Do they use the hanging feeder? They typically eat on the ground/cage bottom out of flat dishes or bowls or out of cups

they do Cindy; I have a perch next to the hanging feeder. I'll send some pics.

I have a bunch of those... wonder it they would use them if it sat on the floors of their flights... be a lot less messy.

Cindy, I have one sitting on the floor of each of the SCP's cages & they eat out of them too.
