Wrong species?

Post by Sojourner » Fri Mar 18, 2016 5:56 pm

In this article about Turquoisine Grass Parakeets, they seem to be showing a picture of a Scarlet-Chested Grass Parakeet.

This is what I expected to see:

Did they get it wrong, or are there Turquoisine Grasskeets out there that have almost no actual Turquoise color and have bright red chests???

Turn towards home, and go there. Many overs, over woods and fields, streams and hills, many overs. Just turn towards home. How else would one go there? Perhaps it was a dream, and you have awakened from it. May the earth rise up beneath you, with home in your heart, and your person waiting.

Not sure, but Turks have the red bar on their wing.
Maybe they got mixed up & put a pic of a SCP in their article.
In my Barrons book, Long Tail Parakeets, the Turk they show has a red tummy (not chest), but does have a smattering of red on the chest.

Very confusing. Its probably easier to tell if you can see the whole bird, LOL!
