Three eggs so far, expecting six. This pair laid over the summer but the hen lost interest halfway through... she is older now and is taking this clutch much more seriously so far so fingers crossed!
Their nest, by the way, is on a high shelf in a closet. The little boogers aren't normally caged. I didn't expect them to get broody again at this time of year, as the days are getting so short, but they don't seem to care. By the time I found they were in breeding mode again there was an egg on the shelf, so I put the nestbox up in that spot and they accepted it immediately.

The parents look pretty serious with their posture while you have the box open. Very excited for you Dylan! Will this be your first cockatiel babies ever?

Congratulations Dylan
Watch out for that Mama bird, she looks ready to go on the attack to protect her egg babies, lol.

Congrats! I agree, that mama looks like she would kill for her babies!

Babs yes! If Freddy and Todd have chicks this will be my first time with cockatiel chicks! I bought both of these two as babies themselves last year and I can't believe they're already old enough to be parents now. Time flies.

She is very protective of those babies! But the moment she leaves the nestbox she is everyone's best friend. I've never had a sweeter, tamer bird.

Five eggs finished the clutch - I candled them and we have five developing chicks in there. The parents are alternating and doing a perfect job thus far.

Should begin hatching in a week. Moms starting sitting after the first egg so hatching will be staggered over ten days.
