New to Bourkes

Post by danaday » Tue Feb 21, 2017 11:11 pm

Hi Everyone

Meet Hamlet and Ophelia! My first pair of Bourkes. I went to the bird fair for Gouldians but came out with Bourkes instead. LoL

They are gorgeous. Congratulations!

From what I have heard over the years, Bourkes, are lovely and sweet natured birds.

Here's a link to one of our members (who hasn't been on the Forum for a while now) who raised them, among many other species. She is extremely knowledgeable about these guys.

Nice!
I had Bourkes for quite a while. Calm, peaceful, quiet. Not overly active -mostly early and late in the day. They are actually pretty sedentary mid-day.
Easy breeding if that will be your choice.

Enjoy them.

Very beautiful pair of Bourkes. I have never been to a bird fair, but I am sure if I found one close to me, you would have to drag me out of there and I would not be empty handed. :) Good luck with your new birds.

VERY pretty birds. I love Bourkes, they are the sweetest little guys! I have a pair that are of breeding age, but they don't seem very interested in each other. Should I separate them for a while then reintroduce them? Does anyone have any ideas?

Good luck with your new additions!
