My bourke brothers

Post by Barbara » Sat Jun 24, 2017 6:20 pm

Well,I gave up on my gouldians and found them all a really great home(thank-you Betty)so I had a extra double flight cage. I knew I wanted another pair of english budgies or a pair of bourkes but I wanted only males well I happened to find these brothers they are missing there tail feathers (older babies picked on them till she got a chance to seperate them) We named them Ben & Jerry, they are soooooo sweet.I am so happy that I was able to get them.

They have a good new home! Why did you give up on your Gouldians?

You are very welcome , Canaries and Gouldians are my favorite little birds :D . They are doing good , calling for each other but they will be fine till my bird room is done.

I am so glad you were able to get the bourkes. I just love the colors. They are beautiful. Have fun !!! :D

a_gouldian. I just didnt have luck with them geting along even when I separated males from females if they hear or see each other they fought,so I put the males in another room females were ok but males were nasty to each other. Then I offered them to Betty and she took them all 4 males and 4 females.I know they have a great home I would trust Betty with any of my pets shes great. The are beautiful little birds but they wore my out with there nasty personalities.

Too bad. They can be sweet little birds. We do have two females that can have their moments, but fortunately not to the extent I would call nasty. The biggest problem we have had is with aggressiveness while they were breeding, but it doesn't last.

a_gouldian They are very pretty but sweet #-o I would never descibe them as sweet. They did the best for me when I only had one pair in a cage all alone. Then when I rescued five and bought one to have a even amount it just never worked out and I only had so many huge flight cages.I was happy to find them a great home with Betty.

Barbara

I have never had any major issues with my Gouldies, although some are more assertive than others.

I gather you have not had any Zebras, who hold grudges  and who grab each other by the top knot and give a good shake when your 'enemy' flies by, leaving your so called enemy hanging in mid air, flailing helplessly in space.

Shaft tail males do that to each other too, grabbing by the head, or a wing, also Diamond Firetails, and some others.

Glad that you are enjoying your Bourkes :D

wilkifam. I personally am not.I am only going by the breeder she told me they were 2 mths old and brothers.I hope they both are because I dont want to seperate them if one is a she when they want to breed and that is a [-X even if they were not related.

lovezebs I do have four little girl zebras in two F030 cages connected,so they better get along they have plenty of space to stay away from one another and there is not a male zebra in the house.I do enjoy the Bourkes and the English keets there in my living not in the bird room so they get plenty of attention.they both have sweet personalities and are not too loud.
