vinay

Thanks Vinay,

I honestly didn't think much about mutations when I picked him out of the group, I just thought he looked cute, but it's good to know =D> .

Vinay: thank you for the identification.
Budgie mutations and their genetics are a complex can of worms. I have entertained myself trying to sort out which mutation or combination that fellow is.
A handsome lad.

Now I almost want one like him.

Sally lem2bert

Thanks girls.

They are cute together, chatting up a storm, and doing all these burbling sounds to each other.

Chip seems a lot happier with Dale, than he ever was with my poor little Freebee. I think he was always a little afraid of her, and now he's coming into his own.

@Barbara sure came up with a great set of names for those two.

As mentioned above I know nothing about the Budgie mutations, beyond green, blue, yellow, and white, lol.

We should ask one of our newest members, who raised Budgies for something like fifty years... I bet he would know exactly what mutations Chip and Dale happen to be.

Oh... and I think you should get one Paul, or maybe even two, tee hee heee...

Elana:
Ha!
I've bred lovebirds and a couple of species of grasskeets in the past.

should it get to the stage of adding budgies the best route would be via a fairly active budgie club in Arizona. They have big competitions a couple of times a year and have bird auctions at that time. That would be the time to see all sorts of mutations and pick something special.
The danger is that I'd want to explore the genetics and breed them. Hooked. Then what?

Then you breed Budgies, along with Finches.
Nothing wrong with that, is there?
