Only if you have just one, which I do not encourage. Single budgies will mimic sounds and words, flocks of them just talk parakeet to each other. Sam mumbles some words but it's not clear, and I seem to be the only one who can make it out when he chatters.

Budgies are lovely birds! I bought another pair of budgies yesterday (English show budgie and a pretty Australian female) so now I've got 5 all up! I love the racket they make and watching their mad antics lol.
