Really? You can tell that from the picture? It looks cream colored with light blue tone to it.Sheather wrote: The blue budgie is female - cere is too light to be a male.

Yes, that would be a hen. Male budgies have solid pink or purple ceres or a rich deep blue. Females vary from white to sky blue to tan to a deep brown.

Okay, I've change there names around Charlie is the blue and yellow one, since that name works for a girl as well. Now the green and yellow one is Joey.

Good luck with them. Hand-training adult parakeets is difficult but their being wing clipped may help.

Re: my new budgies
I have two parakeets the same color, LOL! The blue is actually more of a turquoise and the green one looks to be a hybrid with some English budgie in him. Both males. They are named Thing One and Thing Two. Thing One is green and Thing Two is blue.
Male parakeets are actually better talkers than larger parrots. There was a guy on youtube who made a living off his videos of his bird who had over 2000 words in his vocabulary. This was at least 10 years ago so the bird is probably dead by now, I couldn't find him on youtube just now. Allegedly its easier to teach them to talk as singletons though so it might be a lot harder to teach them to talk. However I think they are happier with other birds for friends - "talking" doesn't really mean anything to them, it just amuses us.

Turn towards home, and go there. Many overs, over woods and fields, streams and hills, many overs. Just turn towards home. How else would one go there? Perhaps it was a dream, and you have awakened from it. May the earth rise up beneath you, with home in your heart, and your person waiting.
