great news about my dove! he has been able to perch for about a week here is a photo of him perching (sorry its a bad pic with the bars in the front, i just didn't want to freak him out and have him lose his balance!). i have thick, natural perches in this cage from grape vines that are in my garden. he seems to be able to grip the branches and balance well on them.
i moved him and his mate into a quieter area of my house, and he seems to be doing very well... I haven't seen him twirl for a long time. I am hoping that he will continue to improve as time goes on.
