Yesterday, I had 4 of the CPQ, "Button Quail" Hatch out of the 12 eggs. Of all the years of keeping finches, I have never seen anything this cute in my life. 4 balls of yellow fuzz scurrying around the cage. The are getting into everything, climbing the food bowls, over the nest boxes, under Mama's wings, and making laps around the water dish. They are so adorable. They are a Sliver (F), and Cinnamon (M) so it will be interesting how they color out. I hope to post some pictures, but it's been a very busy time of the year (on-line retail sales is my day job). They'll be ready for new home(s) in about 6 weeks or so.

congratulations on your buttons i agree they are cute little things when ours hatched i couldn't believe how small they where.

That's the normal reaction of everybody who sees button babies for the first time. Including myself...

Enjoy them while they are so small, you will see they grow up at lightning speed. Better take tons of pictures every day now.

Here are a few photos taken with the phone yesterday. Just adorable little balls of fuzz. Mama is very protective, so I still can't get a photo with all 4 in one spot. I'll keep trying.
