Ivory and Ash just joined our flock today. They will remain in quarantine for at least 2 weeks before entering the aviary or remain on the porch forever as pet birds! I love them. They eat seed whole!!! I have finches and canaries so watching a bird gulp down a whole sunflower seed was a bit shocking. We laugh about our new additions and having them for when we become magicians. LOL!!!

Ringneck are neat birds and tame easily.
I have one male, very tame, lets himself be held and petted. I have tried to get him a mate, but he is too domineering over other doves, so he has bonded with a cockatiel instead, and the two get along well. However, never seen mine eat a seed that big - he mostly favors millet or canary seed.

Hi Sharon,

Nice edition to yer bird avairy once they've been quarantined,

As you mentioned them eating whole seeds I'd perhaps offer them some oyster shell to help aid with their digestion

Small birds don't need grit but all larger birds do IE doves, pigeons, chickens, pheasants and guini fowl etc require some grit as these birds do eat seed whole :D

Congratulation to the new edition!
I so miss my ringnecks :( they are wonderful birds! I had mine free flying inside my home without a cage and they loved being near and see what I did (only problem was when laying my puzzles because the pieces went everywhere when they came flying :P).
