Button Quail Eggbound?

Post by Dryxxa » Mon Apr 03, 2017 3:04 pm

i have a button i brought home a couple of weeks ago, she is definitely trying to lay an egg, she seems to just kinda be whining, like a very light sound like her peeps but she sounds like she's having a hard time, is this just because she hasn't laid an egg in weeks or could it be binding, shes running around and eating and sleeping well, lot having any other issues. im just worried about her and don't want to ignore it.

Usually if a hen is eggbound, you will notice it, as she will be obviously in distress. She often will be puffed up with droopy wings and squinty eyes. I don't know anything about quail, so I am going to move this post to the All Things Dove/Quail forum, where members who are knowledgeable about this species may see it. I will title it "Button Quail Eggbound?".

Welcome to the forum! If you put your general location in your profile, it makes it easier for members to give advice. There's lots of good reading at http://www.finchinfo.com, but that site is geared to finches, not quail.
