Diamond dove improperly incubating

Post by Finchluv » Mon May 15, 2017 5:52 pm

Hello, about a month ago i was gifted a pair of diamond doves, i had a pair of males years ago. This is a breeding pair. And took no time at all for them to do so. I have had a single egg in the nest for about 5 days now. During the day, all seems normal. They incubate the egg all day, but at night when lights go down and its time for sleep, there is no activity in the nest at all. They get together on a perch and stay there till morning. Also i keep my birds on a 12 hour on off schedule, I also know they had 2 successful babies with the prior owner. Im not sure whats up. Any ideas?
