Infertile quail?

Post by Flight Feathers » Tue Jan 30, 2018 2:41 pm

Hi there!

Is it possible for a female Chinese button quail to be infertile or is this only the males that can be infertile?

Also how common is it to get an infertile male Chinese button quail?

Thanks!

While it's possible, it's not common. Is your hen laying blanks? Or not laying at all? How old is the hen? Have you seen them mate with your own eyes?

Have seen mating plenty... Yep she's laid 30 eggs now. Believe her to be reasonably young. I'm picking up more Chinese quail tomorrow hopefully so we shall see which one is infertile once I swap things around. Thanks!
