Question about Star Finches

I saw an add on craigslist giving away a bunch of finches...the only one I'd like is a male star finch (he doesn't have a mate). Would that get along ok in a flight with gouldians and societies?

Should be just fine. I have a long male Star finch in with 5 or 6 Gouldians - no problem.

Ok. Right now he looks to be in a small cage with a ton of zebras. He'll probably like it better at my house, if the lady responds back to me

No go. She won't seperate her "babies"...he's the only Star out of 20 zebbies....don't really understand that.

I would have taken all if that is what she wanted. Then rehomed the ones you didn't want maybe Kijiji or somewhere. But that's just me:)

I thought of that too, but that's sort of dishonest. If I was selling pets and I wanted to them to remain together it would hurt me to find out they were separated.

Did you leave her your contact info in case she changes her mind? She might have trouble finding someone to take 21 finches in one load, so maybe she'll be willing to separate them later if she can't rehome the whole group together.
