Lutino Blue Faced PF... Finally

Post by albert » Sun Oct 03, 2010 6:33 pm

Thought I owe the forum these pictures since lots of you helped me hunt these guys for the last year or so.

Finally I decided to shoot for a Canada shipment, and here they arrived. Not so perfect condition, but acceptable.

I will have a long way to condition them to bring them to the quality. The good thing is now I have multiple bloodlines to work with.

Enjoy...

That's quite the shipment. Congratulations! They don't look too bad to me - maybe a tad rough from the shipping but I don't think that's unexpected nor an issue. A week's rest and they should be fine. =D>

Congrats on the birds. I agree with Liz, they look to be in great shape from the pictures. Must have been EXPENSIVE to import them from Canada though. :o

I agree I think they look pretty good. I don't know what it is but everytime I see parrot finished (mostly red headed) they never look that good, always missing feathers and disshevled. I don't see that many mind you, but that's how they always look when I do.

I only see pretty ones on this board.

 So many gorgeous lutino's!! I would love to have some but I don't think I want to import from CA -- I'll bet you had to give an arm and a leg for them...

I might be willing to give an arm, though....

If you had another one or two near you that also wanted birds - perhaps you could share the shipping / customs, etc fees.

Good idea!

I'll have to keep my eyes peeled -- there actually are not too many things to do with birds in this area that I'm aware of -- but then again, I've only been doing birds for close to 3 years -- prior to that I did Customs Brokering and management for UPS. I left early -- health issues (too bad because I could probably broker my own birds into the U.S. from CA if I'd decided to keep my license!)

I do think there is someone on this forum that is in Kentucky but I think she has only gouldians...?

I would LOVE to, though, you Canadians seem to have all the neat, harder to get finches and for less...

Lovely, Albert. I am so glad you finally got those Lutinos even if they did get a little roughed up. Hopefully they will settle in and get in good condition for you. How is the ones leg doing?
Your persistance on locating and finalizing the deal looks like it has paid off =D>
Please put me at the top of your list for some offsprings

Thanks guys for the nice comments,

It really costs me a fortune, but it is still less expensive than if I can find them here in the US. The only hesitation was I did not know the guy well, and did not know the quality of the birds.

However, after lots of frustrations and hassles, I decided to get it done and move on, glad they turn out to be acceptable.

Now they have plenty spray millets, heat lamp, bath water. Hope their feather will get tight and they will put on some weight soon.

I'd like to be somewhere on your list for some lutino's when you have some ready to be sold in the US, too, Albert. I love my parrot finches! :)
