Cindy you can also tell them apart by their beak coloration. For females they will have an orange beak and for the males they have red beaks.
CFW Males: Malfurion and Illidan (Illidan is mate of Sylvanas)
Normal Female: Sylvanas (She is the mate of Illidan)
Penguin Female: Tyrande
Pied Males: Thrall, Arthas and Cairne
Pied Female: Elune
Orange Weaver Male: Vol'jin

Finch Status: Sleeping

Thanks, I got the male female thing down...the only thing that make me wonder if the one bird in the middle is a split between a penguin and a dominant silver is the cheeks on her it is oh so faint grey with a diluted tear.

I think the male pied and the female penguin in the front are close so I will most likely pair them together and use the offspring as a mate for the one in the middle.

The red vs orange beak is not reliable.
I have hens with beaks as red as some of the males, and males with beak more orange than red.

In fact that is how I got my first pair messed up. The hen had a beak as red as the males, so I thought I was getting 2 males...then I found eggs in the nest. Then I learned about the feathers pattern difference which was more reliable.

I found that with all the ones I own the males have brighter red beaks and the females lighter orange. Now my shaftails are a different story, some males have orange or a pearly pink orange or a red, same with the females, it is a mutation thing.
