Those birds have such a sad expression...like they are frowning. Beautiful colors though :D

I can see why they are called seed crackers -- they have big thick bills -- do they eat regular finch seed?

Neither one of mine looks like that. They are both deeper red in color and have the red color on the sides, no brown on the sides just the wings. So I must have 2 males.

John, a friend of mine recently purchased a pair of this Crimson Seedcrackers at the bird mart here in WA state for $250 a pair. Vendor is from CA. I'm a snob and only like Austrailian birds, so I passed on them. Beautiful birds no doubt.

I will bring a pair or two to LaPlace in a couple weeks and show you how to sex them if your able to make that show
