12-12 ~ Zebra mutations

Post by cindy » Sun Dec 12, 2010 9:38 am

These are three of the different mutations I am getting from several pairs of zebras. One of my favorite are the Florida Fancy males, their parents hatched 2 males the first clutch along with some females. One female has paired off with a unrelated FF male.

The normal looking males is split to fawn. The fawn is from a different pair, mother is fawn and male is normal split to fawn.

Pretty offspring. I love the surprises zebras can spring on us...my latest surprize was 3 pure white and 1 black cheek from a black cheek male and a grey cheek female. I have no idea where these white birds came from :?

it is amazing what you can get with some of the zebras. Unless the line has been kept pure for the mutation it will always be a surprise. What is really pretty is a dark fawn black cheek.
