Went to a local petstore a few days ago and saw some finches that look exactly like my self chocolates. Only thing is the workers there said that they were not societies but are actually hybrids and wanted close to $40 each. I was thinking maybe this pet store just has never seen self societies before and that's why they think these are hybrids but the worker seem to know a little about birds and said they got them from a breeder out of state. Was wondering if I should buy a female or two to breed with my two self chocolate males or don't since I'm not sure what they can be.
Thanks
Should I buy?

Yeah, it can definitely be hard to walk out without getting something. My biggest thing about being able to walk out without buying a finch is thinking about how many I already have and where I would fit a new one. I hate buying more cages, plus new ones have to be isolated for awhile... so I try not to. Although in the past week, I have purchased four new finches. One spice, one spice hybrid, one owl, and one indian silverbill. All very beautiful!
