In the gallery, Little Bird posted about his/her Orange Weaver that is 20 years old! Anyone else have a long-lived finch and if so, what species?

I haven't kept a finch that long :( So I have no idea. I haven't heard of many finches that have even lived over 10 years.

I keep societies only and read that they only live to around 4 yrs, which is short compare with other birds/finches.

I was thinking around 6 years is average. 20 years seems really long-lived to me.

Of course then there are parrots...
