Magpie Mannikins & Javas

Post by JohnBoy » Fri Apr 15, 2011 1:47 pm

Here are some pics of 1 of the Magpie babies from my first clutch. He/she is not fully colored yet but they are looking good. They are on their 4th clutch.

The younger birds are from their 3rd clutch.

Also pictured are some of my Javas that are housed with these birds.

The Magpies and Javas get along well.

Javas are usually good birds.
People think because they are so big,
that they are mean towards other birds.

What they will not tolerate is other eggs or
or chicks in their nest.
They will not foster other bird's babies.

I just see them bickering with each other on occasion but I never see them bothering other birds.
