Some time ago I was considering getting Bronze Mannikins because I saw them for sale at our local flea market and they looked like a very interesting finch. I asked about them, but some people told me they were very aggressive birds, so I ended up not getting them. I just looked in the Finch Information Center, and they list them as a passive species on the site. If they're passive, I'd certainly still be interested in getting some.
Could anyone that has or has had them tell me what they're true nature is like. Are they a calm, friendly species or are they something that's going to harass and torture my other birds?

I got some once--they are soooo cute!!! Those tiny little things were very aggressive. Always chasing others off perches. They seemed like little terrors sometimes.I ended up not keeping them.

I have bronze winged mannikins and they are aggressive! They go after bigger finches too and are not afraid to peck or knock another finch off the perch and/or nest. My pair have been kept alone since and are happy by themselves.

They are not passive! They're not aware that they are so small.

Bronze wings can be extremely aggressive. Even towards birds 3 times their size.
