I absolutely love watching all my birds and trying to figure them out. (I should have been a scientist like the people who observe the Meerkats on Meerkat Manor because if I had the time I'd watch them for hours on end).
Doves: Social, not very curious, very cautious, very docile. Try to beat a dove for parenting though. I don’t think you can do it. Pilgrims.
Waxbills: Beautiful, social, curious, intelligent, brave (will stand off much larger birds at times), nervous. Smarter than you think: I have hand-raised waxbills that know their names and learned simple commands like "up" and "down", quirky at times which is fun. I love their dancing, allo-preening and loyalty to each other. These guys are Dancing with the Stars contestants!
Parrot Finches: Super social, hyperactive and athletic, overly curious, very strong instinct for self-preservation and survival, suspicious, intelligent and gluttonous, ATTITUDE is written all over them. If they were people I'd have to say they'd be celebrity Basketball Players wth a bit of clown thrown in. One of my favorites.
Gouldians: Social but with quite a bit of "private" space required, top of the heap, stunning, proud, thoughtful and private. Constant singers. The "Divas" of the finch world for sure!

Societies: Most tolerant and flexible of all personalities, courageous, devoted, promiscuous, cheerful, giving, respectful of all life; someone else on the FF called them 'Close-Talkers' and I think that describes them down to the core.
I guess I've rambled on long enough... still, how could I ever pick just one?? They are all so unique and fun.
