What kind of mate should I get?

Post by nelloyello11 » Sun Aug 14, 2011 9:52 pm

I have two single factor Florida Fancy hens (sisters). I am considering getting them some mates, but I don't know what mutation I should pair them with. Any suggestions for what pairs well with sf/FF?

Does it matter if theyare single- or double-factor FF?

Depends on their heritage, whatever else that may be hidden in their genetic make up that might decide to appear all of a sudden. I would think Double Factor might help to further emphasize the FF genes. Most likely get you at least some SF/FF if not a couple of DF's.

Realize you're several hours away but we do have a couple of FF boys available. They're all related so you'd be limited in breeding possibilities after the initial clutches. The boys are from our Phaeo males so there is some BB in there along with the possibility of OB
