Bronzewing Societies

I rehomed my Zebras today. I took them to a woman who does bird rescues, as she could use some fresh bloodlines, and she said she had some Societies I could swap for. It was a pair, with two babies. I thought they looked rather small. Well, it is a Society hen with a male Bronzewing Mannikin, with two babies that are Bronzewing Societies! Not exactly what I was looking for, but the BM is so cute, he can go in the community cage, and I can place the hen in with the other Societies. Not sure what sex the two babies are, they are fledged but not yet weaned, and they will not be allowed to reproduce anyway. Here I am, against hybrids, and I have two! Some woman had brought the family to the rescue, so she may not have even known what she had. They are both from the Lonchura (sp?) family, so will readily cross.

Well not the plan but sounds cute, Can we get pics?? and gota ask, Why a rescue would need new lines/???

I too would like to see some pictures of them. I have BWs also and would love to see what that looks like.

Talk about a difference in size - no wonder the kids are small. I'll bet the coloring is interesting!

Still don't have a camera, have got to get one. The rescue lady actually deals with cockatiels, but someone had given her a pair of Zebs with 3 baby females. I had a pair, with three baby males. She is going to let those babies grow up, and then pair them and try to breed them. Every once in a while, someone gives her finches, so if she gets anything other than Zebras, she is going to let me know, in case it is something I might be interested in.
