Saw a pair of Star Finches in the local pet store. Adding some colour to the aviary again.

I am sure the waxbills are lonely with the singers out of the flight.

 I hear they do good with gouldians. After your goulds raise this clutch why not introduce them to a new couple?

they are a great bird-I have yellow and red. The yellows seem a bit more hardy for some reason. Mine have dissapeared for the moment because they are nest building at a million miles and hour. Mine build very large nests but this is not always the case. I have given them cane baskets-half fronted nest boxes and ordinary gouldian boxes and they have opted to nest way out in the open flight area in dried palm fronds. They like live food but will raise chicks without it. Because of the wet and humid climate here I find worming and coccidiosis treatment evy 3 months essential.
