Find Breeder in DC area

Post by jaydees » Thu May 15, 2008 11:44 pm

I am looking for owls, cordon bleus, gouldians, strawberries &/or green singing finches. Does anyone know of a breeder or good store that sells any of these in the Washington, DC area (PA/MD/VA/WV)? I am having a hard time finding anyone through internet searches, except farther away which would necessitate shipping the birds (Which I don't want to do).

I live in Arlington, VA and breed gouldians. So far my strawberries and cordon bleus haven't cooperated (except for my hand-raised cb). This Saturday is the Baltimore Bird Fanciers' spring mart and show - that would be an excellent way to see some of the birds available and meet local breeders. Mike Lamereaux will be there - he breeds owls and gouldians.

Connie Gahman is in PA, and she breeds a NUMBER of birds. It's worth the drive up to her place just to see a lot of birds you've read about but never seen. Her website is Wings Custom Mixes
