What a lovely variety!

The genetics in this equation are blowing my mind. I didn't think you could have green, blue and yellow all in one clutch!

So let me get this right....
Dad is:
Red head
Lilac Chest / split to white
Silver body pastel

Mom is:
Black head / split to yellow
White chest
Green back /split to blue

So you have mom's split to blue and you got the second blue gene from dad's silver. Right?

But then how did you get a yellow back? Wouldn't we need a yellow gene from dad?

If you're not sure, that's okay! I bet they're going to be lovely! (And I bet this is one of the few combos that enables you to get such a diverse variety of colorings!)
I can't wait to see how they all color up!
Humum to....
13 Zebra Finches....and 2 squeeps!
3 Society Finches
6 Gouldians
1 Weaver
1 Pintail Whydah
2 Cockatiels
2 Parakeets

....along with 1 MinPin, 1 Pug, 1 JRT, 1 Yorkie, 2 Chihuahuas and 15 cats.

Hey Dolly, congratulations!!! Real Cuties!!!
I like the yellow. Folks are telling me that some of my new infants might be yellow, but I can't see it, (both parents are normal green backs) but I can hope :-).

Goodluck with these pretty youngsters.

Congrats on the chicks , nice mix of colours

@MiaCarter , silver is a combination of DF blue and yellow (dilute) so the yellow came from the dad

thanks Mia, and all the babies (other than the blues) will be split to blue.
All will have red heads, some split to yellow.
There will be purple, white & lavender breasts.
This is why I love to get into the genetics to much......and dontcha love their filthy nest :?:

I think your saying the male is SF Pastel Blue (visually white body because of the Lilac Breast) right? If so then the male has 1 Pastel (yellow) gene and 2 Blue genes. If he is DF then he has 2 Pastel genes and 2 Blue genes.

So the chicks would get both Pastel (yellow) genes and Blue genes from dad :)

Yes Debbie, you know me, I get confused with the pastel terminology.
If he was DF Pastel Blue he'd be totally, entirely, 100% white, right :?:
He must be SF Pastel Blue, because he has a couple blue feathers on his back
