He looks not too bad.I mean, not very bald. :D The Iodized salt may help him.
Baldness usually occur in the winter, and nutrition is not the only problem, another reason is about the illuminating time.If the illuminating time is long enough, the molt will work better. That is to say,all of his feathers will come out when the spring is coming, even if you do nothing for him.
So,I treat this problem with three way.One is giving them a few Iodized salt in their egg food, the second is extending the the light time, the third is do nothing, they will be superb again when warm season comes.
That is the advise I want to give you, wish your bird be better.

I think it's my mistake, may be it looks rather serious, but in fact it's not so terrible. She had communicated with me many times,in fact she's just want me be better, she thought animals had occupied a lot of my spare time, although I didn't want that ,but finally we had an agreement, birds were left, others were sold.

Thanks for the advice, Sen.

So iodine and light.

I keep their lights on now from 8 in the morning, until 8 in the evening, so I hope that this is enough. What do you think?

I also grate an iodine block, and add to their oyster shell grit, along with crushed egg shells, cuttle bone, and mineral block. This way, they can take as much as they need.

I Really hope, that this young fellow will make a full recovery and be beautiful like he was before.

isobea@lovezebsI have a pair that the hen is WC and the cock is split to WC, so their babies should be WC, I think. I love the WC, but not with the BH.GB, just a preference. I love the RH.WC.YB or GB, but there are other pretty combinations. I think my favorite is BH.PC.YB or GB or BB, LOL. Heck, I can't make up my mind. I'll love any babies that make it and survive. You will get both PB and WB chicks if the male is split to WB. The WB chicks need the WB gene from BOTH parents. The chicks that only get one WB from the hen and a PB gene from the male will be PB/WB

Well Folks,

It is official. Baby White Breast, is definitely a : Black Head/White Breast/Green Back.

Out of her clutch of siblings, she is the first one to colour up completely. Still a little rough around the edges, but almost done with her baby molt, and a pretty girl she's turning out to be.

I will try for some pictures of my young lady tomorrow, and share with you.

lovezebs That's my favorite color combo too!!! I love the WB, (i guess it's actually a YH), and YB, or dilute. I saw a picture when i googled Gouldy images, and this bird had an orange head, and yellow back and white breast, and he was BEAUTIFUL!!! OH gosh, I thought i would be one of the few (cuz i've read before that the dilute is removing the color from the gouldy's and it kind of defeats the purpose of them as their beauty is in their coloring) but man i love that combo too. So pretty!!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!!! Oh and isobea , could you put a pic up of them standing side by side? I would love to see it!!!

lovezebs You're right that bird (from the pet store) is beautiful!!! I have a feeling that just being with you he will come out of his molt.... Pet stores "try everything" but they can't really give birds the care that we (you) can.... I hope you the best with this bird!!! Also you're little (girl/boy) not sure yet, White Breast (i that should be Sh-his Native American Name!!!) also can you post a pic of Jaxom? I keep hearing how beautiful he is and I'm jealous I want to see him. If i'm reading right, I think he is my favorite gouldy mutation!!! Thanks. (btw i know you're busy, so obviously whenever you get a chance!!) Thanks!!

debbie276 Just a quick question. If you are using PB/WB as breast (Purple Breast/White Breast) don't you use B for back as well? (GB/YB/BB) green back/yellow back/blueback? How do you know what someine is talking about?

PB/WB is purple beast split to white beast
body color can be written like this:
Gb is Green body or you can just say Green same with Bb, Blue body
Pastel Blue written with 2 letters (PB) would be very confusing so it's written out as is Pastel

Over time you will see many different ways of saying their colors like PC for purple chest, "silver", "pastel" and "dilute" to name a few. That's why in my signature I try to explain the genetic terms I use.

Hi, I've got a couple of pictures of Baby White Breast (she will have another name soon). However they are not very good (my camera is temperamental). I'll post them anyway, and a picture of Jaxom as well.
