Have you ever seen this?

Post by Acky » Fri Apr 10, 2015 11:44 am

This is the first time I have seen this and I didn’t know finches would do this. I saw a red headed parrot finch feed a baby zebra finch. I didn’t know they would do that. It’s not like the parents weren’t feeding it. I had no idea that different kinds of finches would feed other birds babies

It does happen. I think it's just an instinctive behaviour, you see a big open mouth, you hear begging, you feed. It is cute to watch, and just goes to show, that it takes a community flight, to raise a chick :-D.
