Gouldian Finch color fading
Hi everyone! I just have a question regarding one of my gouldians. He used to have a bright red face but recently it looks like it is fading away and the color isn't as intense anymore. What could this mean? Is there anything I could do to bring back is beautiful color? Thanks for the help!

BBry, what type of diet are you giving him? Is he getting enough nutrients? What about lighting?

I've tried giving him fruits and veggies before but he doesn't eat anything other than seeds. As for sunlight, his cage is next to the window so he gets plenty during the day.

The sunlight from the window may not be enough. You may need supplemental lighting. If he doesn't eat anything but seeds, you may want to give him a few vitamins. Sometimes they won't eat a varied diet, but if you keep giving it to them, they may eventually start trying and eating it.

Try offering smashed hard boiled eggs. Maybe sprinkle some seed over top to entice him to try. Goulds are not the most adventurous so it may take quite a while before they try new things.
