Carduelis Psaltria Hesperophila

Post by Aviario Moutón » Tue May 19, 2015 5:43 pm

Hello again,

These are the Lesser Goldfinch Hesperophila . They live in northern Mexico and southern USA , it is the less showy subspecies, but the hardest to find in Europe. I am fascinated .

Aviario Mouton - yes, they are definitely around here, lots and lots of them. We have these mesh bags filled with niger seed that they love. Sometimes there are 6 to 8 of them on these bags at the same time. They also love the seeds of the sow thistles (weeds) which are growing everywhere during the spring. Cute little birds.
