I love the diamond dove male for the Cooing sound. Which as you've observed may be predominantly in the male, but if I get a female with him I am almost guaranteed eggs (omg no more eggs). I am reading the Diamond doves love to breed, like the society finches.
The society finches wont keep a lone male enough company (even if I play other dove songs in the room?)
Would love to make this work. I think 7-8 birds is more than enough in a 3' H x 6 ' L flight cage. If I keep 6 societies, then I have room for 2 more birds.
