Well I'm no expert. I almost did the same thing last year (move them) but decided to leave them alone awhile longer and it worked.

It's starting. I can see a tad bit of black on the center top. That's how mine started. Now they are completely black.

SCORE! We are on our way! When she came home her beak was entirely pink and white.
