Owls sitting on eggs

Post by Carlisle » Mon Feb 15, 2016 1:34 am

I have two owls in with a few society finches. I am pretty sure both the owls are male due to them both singing from time to time, but they share a nest and are sitting on two eggs. I don't know if they are society eggs or not since the societies seem to sit in what ever nests they want to. Would the owls sit on others eggs? Its possible that I could have a male and female owl each but I have heard them both sing so I thought they were both male.

owl eggs are very tiny compared to society eggs, but if you want them to raise the babies, Id leave them alone so they don't toss,

If you are sure both Owls are singing, then they are both male, as only males sing. They could be sitting on Society eggs, it will be interesting to see what comes of it.
