Looking for Star Finches in Frisco area!

Post by Jen » Fri May 27, 2016 8:23 am

I'm looking for a couple of female Star Finches (yellow face) in the Dallas area. My daughter is going to be in the Frisco area in the next few days and would pick them up for me. Maybe Colt has some? Or Sally do you know anyone who breeds them?
Please get back to me if you know of any for sale! Thanks everyone!!!

Jen

Hi Jen,

Colt said he just sold his pair, but his friend, Helen, has some. I contacted her and she said I could give you her email address, so I'm going to pm it to you :D

Thanks Sally and slwatson

I emailed Helen and waiting to hear from her. My daughter Olivia was planning on leaving Sunday afternoon (late) but we are having so much rain and possible flooding, she is having second thoughts. Are you guys getting a lot of rain? Bad weather? So TIRED OF ALL THE RAIN !!!!!!!

I'll hijack this thread. I've been looking for some stars with no success. Any chance that you can send me Helen's contact info? Any purchase would have to be by air shipment so that introduces another variable into the situation.

thanks

Jen It is not as bad here as what you are having, though I dd have 2.5+" last night and this morning. But this afternoon, the sun was out. The weekend has possible rain each day, but not as much, and some places won't see any rain at all. So Saturday and Sunday should be OK, then back up to 50% Monday. I too am so sick of the rain! It is making my grass grow so fast that I have to mow twice a week, if I can get a dry day to do so!

Sally
Thank you.
And now the chuckle of the day. When I saw 'Frisco' I automatically assumed she meant San Francisco and not Frisco Texas. Never knew there was such a place. Live and learn.

Actually, when I first saw the title of this thread, I also thought of San Francisco, even though I know there is a Frisco, TX, and I go there quite often to visit Helen (one of my best friends).

I gave her Helen's number to make contact and pick up the birds. I am SO EXCITED !!!!!!!!!! Thank you for the "hook up"!!!! :D

Jen Great! Glad that worked out. Often times, getting birds is all about networking, which is one good thing about this forum and also bird clubs.

Thank you Sally, I agree...I would not have gotten this far learning to care for my wonderful birds without this form and the friends I found here. I get to enjoy something I have loved since I was a child. It doesn't get any better than that! :)

Look for the heading "I got STARS" to see a photo of the two pair of Star finches I got from Helen. Thank you for checking with Colt and Helen for me. I am super excited about them!!!

Jen

I'm so glad you got your Star finches! I haven't been on the forum for a while due to closing out the school year.

@paul-inAZ

I'm glad Sally got you the info :D
