Aggression in Seagreen Parrotfinches ? or just coincidence ?

Post by 608duj » Sat Aug 27, 2016 11:01 pm

In a 5' flight of yearling males ( RF SG Pied) several of the boys started to look beat up. When I am in the room I assume their behavior is not typical, so backed off to observe from a distance. A SG that was showing no evidence of any damage was a real bully. I took him out of the flight and put him in a flight of Zebra boys. They were not impressed, and he is appropriately chastened.

Today, several months later, when the missing feathers on the beat up boys were just coming in, another SG was terrorizing everybody. Moved him to a Zeb flight also.

I have observed BC Zebras to be more aggressive than Normals. Anybody seen this temperament disparity in Parrotfinches ?
