Juvenile goldbreasts color

Post by kyle » Wed Oct 12, 2016 12:03 am

Hi all. For all you Goldbreast lovers. Is there any distinguishable differences between the sexes as they come into their first adult molt? A friend of mine is interested in purchasing two females. I have 3 babies two are lighter in the chest and one is darker. Am I completely wrong thinking I have two females and a male?

How old are your babies? The males will have the red eye-stripe, plus they have a more colorful gold or orange breast. Hens are much paler.
3 Purple Grenadiers, 1 Goldbreast + 1 cat.
