You say she likes her roommate - I guess you see it by her sitting tightly close to him whenever she can? If so, it's another sign of sickness, not love - sick and cold birds try to get warmer by sitting close to others.
As I am on the other side of the world, I can't tell you what medicine you can get and should give her there. I'd try a broad-spectrum antibiotic - a vet, ideally an avian expert, should be the best sourfe of info.
Really, if the bird already looked sick at the trader, you shoukd not have bought her, and he should not have sold her to you either. Don't know if contacting him now is of any use, most traders I know understandably don't guarantee that live animals sold stay healthy at the buyer (any disease or death could indeed be the buyer's fault) but maybe it's different over there?
