Here's them side by side

Here's the hen

The male's back (they are also sometimes called Spotted Back Weaver)

The two of them eyeing the millet!

They will eventually be housed in an aviary like this one. We currenlty have all the Australian finches in this one (Gouldians, Cherrys, and Stars). It took the hubby and I about two days to build it.

Here's the Australian line up:
The hen sitting on the top of the swing is the mother to the yellow faced female gouldian sitting on the swing, the gouldian on the top of the ladder is our yellow headed dilute back male who will be paired up with the yellow faced baby, the male red face right bellow him is the father to the yellow faced female and the red headed male bellow him, on the far left perch is the pair of stars and the male cherry, I'm not sure where they female cherry is but she's gorgous too!

These are our canries. I'm not 100% sure on what they are. The male has a very robust and loud song very similar to the American Singer and the female has the loudest alarm beep you've ever heard

The Socities weren't being coporative when I was trying to take pictures but the large bird in the middle next to the spice with it's wing up is one of the two Japanese Hybrids we have and still have no clue what they're hybrids of. I'm guessing spice something but have no clue and haven't been able to find them ANYWHERE! They're supposidly two hens but man they squak as loud as my parakeets!

Speaking of parakeets, here's the two we have. The green boy is an English Parakeet and the yellow one is the little girl I saved. I work at the humane society and when she came in she had lost most of her head feathers due to scaley face mites. She also couldn't eat because her bill was crooked and she could barely hold onto perches because her feet were so bad. She is now completley rehabilitated and happy little girl!

Last but not least we have the outdoor aviary for my quail. I started off bringing a pharoh coturnix home from the shelter. Quail sleep in coveys to keep warm so I had to get another one for her to snuggle with. I've actually fallin pretty hard for these little birds and just recently acquired two more. They are great for recycling! The hubby empties all the finch food into a container and I mix that in with the game bird crumbles for the quail so nothing gets wasted.
Here's the outside:

The inside:

The original Pharoh with the Brown Rosetta in the back (she bullies all the others)

The original pharoh with one of the new pharoh babies

And here is a view of the bird room (please excuse the mess we haven't swept in a few days)

THE END!
