I found an aviary with a pair for sale, but $300 seems a little steep. Am I just not aware of going prices? Hilary

OK, shame on me but I'm getting them! I just will bring my lunch for the next, um, 5 years...... To think that right as I was getting interested in finches I saw the red-cheeks at PetSmart all the time! This is the first pair I've seen since. And they're coming DELTA!

So thats the OC's, Swees, Owls and now Red cheek CBs new in the last month or so? You're on a roll! Go, girl!

Things should be settling down for the summer at my house so maybe I can start my search for more owls again, then. I keep floundering on one species or a mixed non-breeding flight.

Actually, if we have to get technical it's swees, strawberries, owls, red cheeked CBs, rosy-rumps and a black headed nun! Oh, and the pair of goulds.... Oh my lord, I think it's getting bad! I'm actually looking to quit my job and move to a cheaper city with a larger home (with room for a bird room) and a yard for the dogs! I need an intervention! Hilary

I am going to try to breed the swees and red-cheeked CBs. They're both getting harder to find (and it semi-justifies the obsession - I'm doing it for the greater good of finch-lovers everywhere!). My blue-capped cbs seem to be trying to practice for me!

OK, pic is in the gallery of the male. I still can't figure out how to indicate it was me posting pics..... I got about 12 empty or "butt shots" before I got this one - the little dude is constantly on the move. I couldn't get the pair, because she's always moving in the opposite direction! And I thought my owls were busy bees.....

He has a VERY slightly crossed beak - I'm hoping that cuttlebone and a good diet should solve for that?

I'm so excited!
