Thanks Janine but as I have a pair I won't be looking until this male is gone.

Why is that name so familiar? I checked my books and I have not bought anything from him but I feel I've heard the name before...?
Liz, Mario DaSilva is one of the finch judges for the AACC.

Oh okay - he wasn't at the show this past weekend. They had a Rick Crook from England. Oh well - maybe next time.

Sally - do you know how old your new Lutino PF hen is? Mine was about 4 months when I got her and I don't know if she is fully coloured up yet. Your's seems to have a more definitive white head which is very pretty!

My Luntino Blue Face Parrot finch is moulting now and is getting a much redder tailbase - like yours in the third photo, Sally. When I first noticed it earlier this week, I did a double-take to make sure it wasn't all blood! I hope her face comes in a nice white like yours too!

How are yours doing? Any eggs yet? Nothing here obviously since she is moulting now. He just finished moulting a week or so ago too.

Liz, I'm trying to remember how old that LBFPF is, and can't--I think she is about one year old. I'll have to look it up. I'm not doing anything with her at the moment, as I don't have a mate (and haven't really tried to find one). Don't know why I got her, since the breeder just has the one bloodline. He had BFPF/Lutino, but they are all brothers to this little hen. Thought she'd just make a pretty addition to the aviary. I have her in an HQ single flight cage right now with my single RTPF, but they can't breed, it would be a hybrid and of no value at all. They are just keeping each other company for now.

Okay - good to know Sally, thank you. Mine are about 6 months old right now, so not even close to breeding yet.
